What we believe

1

God

God is one — eternally self-existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Deut. 6:4-5; Mt. 28:19).

2

The Holy Scriptures

The Old and New Testaments (66 Books) are the Word of God — divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy, the supreme authority in faith and conduct (2 Tim. 3:16-17).

3

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is Saviour and Lord — His virgin birth, sinless life, divine miracles, vicarious and atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension, present mediatorial work, and future personal return in power and glory (Lk. 1:32-33; Jn. 1:1-4; 1 Tim. 2:5-6; 6:13-16).

4

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is God — the third Person of the Godhead, indwelling every believer upon conversion, enabling a holy life, witness in power, and work for Christ (Acts 5:3-4; Mt. 28:19; Acts 1:8).

5

Satan

Satan is a fallen angel whose intent is to supplant God; his ultimate end is eternal punishment (Lk. 10:17-18; Rev. 20:10).

6

Man

Man was made in the image of God, sinless, but by choice fell into sin. Salvation comes freely by faith in Jesus Christ through regeneration by the Holy Spirit (Gen. 1:26-28; 3:1-21; Jn. 1:11-13; 1 Cor. 12:13).

7

The Church

All true believers are one Body, of which Christ is the Head (1 Cor. 12:13; Eph. 2:14-22).

8

Resurrection

The bodily resurrection of all the dead — believers to everlasting blessedness, unbelievers to judgment (Rev. 20:11-15; 2 Cor. 5:9-10).

Founded in Ethiopia, a WWES branch

Christian International Bible College & Theological Seminary Ethiopia (CIBCTSE) was founded in 2019 G.C. by Dr. Alemayehu Dana Borena in Wolaita Sodo City, southwestern Ethiopia, to train evangelical and Pentecostal leaders for inner-city ministry. It holds a licence from the Council of Gospel Believers Churches, South Ethiopia region office (Ref.No: SERC/22/2018) and a licence to open educational institutions from the Southern Ethiopia Region Government under Decree No. 980/2008 — a legally licensed institution of the Ministry of Trade & Regional Integration of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

In 2019 G.C., Dr. Alemayehu Dana Borena formed a partnership with Worldwide Evangelical Seminary (WWES, registered in Nova Scotia, Canada, in 2013 G.C.), and CIBCTSE was formally affiliated with WWES in 2020 G.C. CIBCTSE is an autonomous organization supervised by a local institution and responsible for its own legal and financial matters.
